Blue Mountains Conservancy - Let's start at the beginning

  • End Creek Wetlands conservation easement 66437 Hunter Road Summerville, OR, 97876 United States (map)

Join with the Blue Mountains Conservancy as they harken back to their roots with a tour of their first conservation easement, End Creek Wetlands outside of La Grande.

Ten short years ago, a group of conservationists sat around a kitchen table and debated the best way to preserve a particular parcel of private property for the long-haul.  They knew a conservation easement was the best way to protect the environmental investments and stream restoration already completed (shout out to Grande Ronde Model Watershed and partners for that AMAZING project!), but there wasn't a local land trust in existence to hold such an easement.

As they now know, this dedicated group went on to form their own 501(c)3 land trust, and Blue Mountains Conservancy was born.
